JEANIE AIRD
Narrative folk-pop rooted in the folklore and landscapes of coastal South Texas.
ABOUT
Jeanie Aird is an independent folk musician from Texas. Her debut album, 3rd Law, is a concept album set in coastal South Texas. Across its songs, a narrator returns home to confront old memories, local folklore, and the possibility of redemption.
Inspired by the Gulf Coast landscapes where she grew up, Aird writes songs that are meant to be experienced as one complete story rather than as individual tracks. Every lyric, instrument, photograph, and video connected to 3rd Law serves that narrative. Nearly all of the project's visuals were created in her hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Drawing from folk, pop, indie rock, and country influences, 3rd Law pairs literary songwriting with arrangements featuring acoustic guitar, cello, trumpet, vibraphone, felt piano, E-Bow, and electric guitar. Every creative decision is made in service of the story, which features a whole host of symbols and characters rooted in coastal South Texas: crows, the Chupacabra, the mysterious Emma Joan, tar, dust, the ocean, deer, and the rise and fall of the sun itself.

“Chupacabra”
Lead single from 3rd Law
Inspired by one of South Texas and South America's best-known legends, “Chupacabra” introduces the world of 3rd Law. The song follows a narrator returning home, where folklore and memory begin to blur together. The legendary creature becomes both a lurking presence and a metaphor for the past, exploring fear, nostalgia, and the difficult path toward redemption.
Released June 30, 2026, “Chupacabra” has been the focus of an international radio campaign that has generated 30+ radio and broadcast placements across the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and beyond, including multiple stations committing the song to playlist or rotation.
The campaign has also resulted in acceptance by international commercial music and in-store networks including Mood Media, M-Cube, Moojic, and Kasimu, extending the song's potential reach into commercial and in-store environments internationally.

"The arrangement is understated but wonderfully immersive. Relaxed, steady drums establish an unhurried pulse while softly glistening acoustic guitar strums create the feeling of driving through long stretches of South Texas highway beneath an endless night sky. Aird’s throaty, gentle voice carries warmth even as it recounts darker memories, allowing vulnerability to coexist with quiet resilience."
